srk, salman

Bollywood’s two top-notch Khans – Salman and Shah Rukh have been involved in a cold war for exactly a year now, but it seems that Salman is now in the mood to forgive and forget. Recently, on his TV show Dus Ka Dum, Salman admitted that his arch-rival Shah Rukh Khan was his favourite actor. He said this to his show-guest Riteish Deshmukh. Deshmukh had accompanied his co-star Govinda and director David Dhawan to Salman’s Dus Ka Dum in an attempt to promote their upcoming film Do Knot Disturb. In the course of the gameshow, Salman asked Riteish who his favourite actor is, to which he responded SRK.

Known for his short-temper and his irritation at Shah Rukh fans, all expected some cold vibes from Salman, but instead the superstar showed immense maturity and grace by saying he completely agrees with him, and went on to praise SRK’s acting skills.Later Riteish revealed that he didn’t feel any anger from Salman at his answer and that he feels Salman was being genuine when he agreed him.The fight between Salman and Shah Rukh took place last July on Katrina Kaif’s birthday party, when an inebriated Salman asked SRK to participate in Dus ka Dum, and the latter refused.

Heated words and reportedly some fisticuffs were exchanged, ending a friendship of nearly two decades. The two have not spoken ever since and have instead been either negative or non-committal about each other in public, but now, it seems there is hope for a make-up

Kareena-Katrina avoid face-off

kareena-katrina

A little birdie tells me that Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif avoided coming face-to-face recently. The event was a special screening of Kareena’s latest Kambakkht Ishq. Akshay Kumar was hosting the show at a plush multiplex in suburban Mumbai.

Along with him was Katrina Kaif, his lucky mascot and pal Riteish Deshmukh. While Katrina bonded with Riteish, Kareena was nowhere to be seen. Gossipmongers waited with bated breath in the hope of catching a glimpse of the two but were disappointed.

Kareena made a quiet but a late entry, much after the star guests were seated in the auditorium. Interestingly, while Katrina Kaif sat through the entire film Kareena left mid-way.

‘New York’ script a rip off?

new-york

Scriptwriter Suchita Bhatia has filed a complaint with the Writer’s Association against Yash Raj as she accuses them of stealing her script. Bhatia says that she had penned the story three years back – then titled Osama A Love Story – and even narrated it to Arjun Sablok of Yash Raj Films. Though he seemed happy with the script, it never saw the light of day as far as Bhatia was concerned and so was shocked when she heard about New York.Suchita said, “I wrote to Aditya Chopra in August 2006 regarding two stories I had. He asked director Arjun Sablok to get in touch with me. He contacted me and we fixed up a meeting at the YRF studio.

On September 1, I met Arjun and narrated two story ideas to him. He was extremely happy with the stories. I still remember him exclaiming ‘Wow!’ I kept writing to him, but there was no response and I gave up as I got busy with other work.To my surprise, after three years, I saw New York and was disheartened to know what they had done: using my story without even informing me, let alone give me any credit.Suchita had registered her script with the Writer’s Association in 2006 and is prepared to fight Yash Raj over it, however Arjun Sablok claims that this is nothing more than a cheap attempt at publicity by the scriptwriter.

Aishwarya Rejects Pritam Song for ACTION REPLAY!!

aishwarya

If it’s the Bachchan bahu, it has to be special. That’s what Vipul Shah seems to believe while judging the song to be picturised on Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan in Action Replay. He has rejected music director Pritam’s song as many as three times. Pritam and the lyricists Irshad-Kamil (who have written songs for Love Aaj Kal) are working on it for the fourth time.As Vipul Shah’s shooting schedule of Action Replay has been delayed, the trio has got sufficient time. Else, Vipul may not have had a choice but to select one version from those three. The trio has only cracked three out of the seven songs needed for the film.

Still composer Pritam is burning the midnight oil in near-panic, as the shooting dates loom closer. Inspiration is yet to strike despite the fact that he spent a month holed up in Khandala. The trio tried to convey their viewpoint to Vipul, but the director was not convinced. Vipul said, “It is Aishwarya’s entry scene and I want it to be special. Is Aishwarya rejecting the song? The source said, “No, Aishwarya hasn’t heard the song yet. Only after Vipul finalises the song, she will hear it. Pritam too confirmed the story. He said, “The mounting of this particular set which will showcase the song is so big that you need to have a sure-shot hit.

Moreover, I am working with Aishwarya after a long time. Last I did Dhoom 2 with her. Action Replay songs are all based in the 70s era. And I have to make modern songs with a retro feel to appeal to today’s youth. That’s why it is taking so long. The shooting was scheduled for April/May, but has now been pushed to August/September.

Luck favours Akshay

Akshay

Akshay Kumar’s bad luck run at the box office is all set to end with his latest release Kambakkht Ishq that releases in theaters on July 3rd. At least that’s what numerology suggests according to famous astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi. According to Bhavikk, “The title of the film is already ‘numerologically corrected’ since it is spelt with a double ‘K’. That makes the film title add up to Number 33 which would further add up to Number 6 which represents Venus – the planet of love, peace, and harmony. The film is primarily a love story and this combination would work wonders for the film.

He further adds, “Also, Kareena is a Number 3 (21st September) person in numerology while Akshay and producer Sajid Nadiadwala are both Number 9s (9th September and 18th February respectively). Both the numbers 3 and 9 get very well and the pairing of this trio is a hit combination. The paid previews of the film are supposed to be held a day earlier on July 2. The year 2009 adds up to the same number and this factor would also work in favor of the film. The period of June 20 – July 20 is the best time to start or release any creative venture and nothing can get bigger or better than Kambakkht Ishq.

So, come rain, come flood – Kambakkht Ishq should hit the bull’s eye in all probability,” concludes Sangghvi on a confident note

Ranbir Kapoor was seen in disguise!

Ranbir Kapoor

His fans will probably not be able to ‘bear’d this news, but well, the truth is that lately Ranbir Kapoor has been in disguise. Yeah, don’t blame the poor fella, he enjoys every bit of the stardom, and all the attention, adulation etc, but right now even he can’t help it. Ever since he’s grown a thick beard for his role as a sardar in Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year, he’s been sporting a very un-Ranbir-like avatar.

Apparently, when he’s in public places, he often goes unrecognised, while at first he was quite stunned, he soon got kinda used to it. And later on he started enjoying the lack of attention, too.
Last week he was dining at a suburban restaurant, and we saw him walking around nonchalantly, almost like a ‘nobody’. The smart ones, like us, who spotted him could catch that naughty grin peeping from behind that well-trimmed mooch.

We think the only one who needs to worry about his disguise is the lovely Ms Dee. This disguise could be dangerous, gal. Oh…did we tell ya that we just spotted a Ranbir look-alike with a hottie out here. We got ya, didn’t we? Lol! We’re only kidding.

Abhishek and Vidya thrown out of Cambridge

abhi, vidya

Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan, who are back from London after shooting the final schedule of R Balki’s Pa, had a rather peculiar experience while they were there. Abhishek and Vidya were asked to leave the Cambridge University grounds just seconds before Balki was about to call ‘Action’. Reason – they were standing on one of the small lawns in the university premises. The Cambridge campus has a strict rule – nobody is allowed to stand on the grassy areas. Only the scholars are allowed to do so,” says a source. The incident happened on June 20 at 6.30am. Balki and his crew thought they would shoot in peace as they expected very few people on the campus early in the morning.

They had already got the required permissions and everything was ready.Suddenly the college authorities asked them to pack up. The authorities told them they couldn’t shoot on the grassy area and since they had broken a rule, they should leave immediately. Balki tried to reason with them, but to no avail,” says the source.Soon after, the unit left the university. The laws are very strict in London. Abhishek, Vidya and others felt it would be imprudent to continue arguing,” adds the source. As a result, the unit lost over two hours of shooting. They did shoot the particular scene but in another college, which was far away from the spot where the fracas had happened. This time, Balki didn’t want to take chances and decided to shoot on a non-grassy area. The green backdrop was not really necessary.

Moreover, they could not afford to lose any more time,” says the source.Balki remained unavailable for comment.Pa, slated for a year-end release, will have Abhishek playing Amitabh’s father in the film. Amitabh plays a man suffering from progeria, because of which he ages much faster than others.

Don’t call me lucky: Katrina

katrina

Katrina Kaif feels belittled if someone calls her lucky because her films do well at box office.Akshay Kumar may have run out of hit movies, but Katrina keeps delivering them one after the other. Now that her latest release New York is pulling crowds to theatres, the gorgeous gal is ecstatic. And she wants to be acknowledged for her work rather than luck. Saying I’m just lucky kind of annihilates all the hard work that I have put into my films,” she is quoted as saying in a media report.

Katrina said a film succeeds because of the labour put in by its director, actors, writer and the remaining team. To attribute the success to luck is to take away credit from the entire cast and crew. After the failure of Yuvvraaj which she said was close to her heart (we know why), the beautiful actress is glad to have another hit film in her résumé.

And she’s very optimistic that her upcoming films – Blue , Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajniti – too will fare well at theatres

Celina Jaitley is happy that homosexuality is legalized

Celina Jaitley is one actress who has never been shy to express her feelings on homosexuality. She was the one who came out to launch the first official gay magazine in India and also had to face a lot of threats and abusive remarks for standing up for the gay community. Now that Article 377 has finally been nullified and homosexuality is legalized in India, she is definitely happy.

Here is what she had to say to express her feelings, “I have been receiving threats from radical and cultural groups. But I was simply standing for the fundamental right of a human being, so what if he or she is a homosexual. There are many people in the film industry who are from the sexual minority and they will now be able to come out in the open. Some of the people who have touched my lives were homosexuals. I owe a lot to them.”

That was Celina Jaitley on homosexuality. How many of you welcome this decision of the Government?
